Cold Storage Roofing
There’s no substitution for Experience when repairing or installing a roof over cold storage and blast freezers.
The owner of Superior has 25+ years’ experience in working with blast freezer roofs, walls and vapor drive issues. We fully understand the varying levels of cold storage facilities and the different design requirements needed. Coolers 32 to 55 degrees or blast freezers -20 to -50 degrees have similarities but are not the same.
Cold Storage and Blast Freezers
Superior understands that the primary concern for proper roof design of a cold storage building is the significant vapor drive that occurs predominantly from the warmer exterior towards the colder interior.
That directly leads to two critical aspects of the roof design:
- Proper placement of a vapor retarder to manage the vapor drive
- Proper detailing to prevent air infiltration or exfiltration at enclosure transitions and penetrations.
*Additionally, the reduction or elimination of thermal bridges is important because of the critical need for a highly effective thermal boundaries.
Advanced Technology for Smart Decisions
Superior has cutting edge and non-destructive diagnostic tools used to accurately, quickly and cost-effectively find hidden moisture in your roof or walls. ROOF INSPECTIONS
